Oculus Link is Oculus/Meta’s way of enabling PCVR with their Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 headsets. It is part of the Oculus software for PC that makes this possible by connecting a USB cable such as our 5 m Oculus Link Cable. When connected via Oculus Link, you can use your computer’s hardware to play games that require better hardware than what’s in the Quest headset. In addition to the games in the Oculus PCVR library, you also get access to Steam’s entire library of thousands of games.

  1. Open the Oculus app on your computer.
  2. Turn on Quest 2 or Quest.
  3. Connect your Oculus Quest Link cable to a USB 3.0 port on your PC, then plug the other end into the headset.
  4. A message will appear in VR prompting you to Allow access to data. Select Neka. If you accidentally give permission, you must disconnect the USB connector from Quest and then reconnect it.
  5. When prompted to Activate Oculus Link, select Activate to begin using Oculus Link.

  • If “Add Quest” or the “Enable Link” pop-up window is not available in the Oculus PC software, log out of the software on your computer and then log back in.
  • If the “Enable Link” option is not visible in the settings of your headset: turn off the headset completely and then restart it.

Problems with your computer not being able to see or recognize your headset via Oculus Link can often be solved by reinstalling the Link driver on your computer. You can find an installable driver file for Oculus Link by going to the following path: c:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers\oculus-driver.exe.

  1. Open the Oculus app on your computer.
  2. Click Devices on the left side of the app.
  3. Click on Quest and Touch.
  4. Click Graphics settings.
  5. Click Reset to default.
  6. Click Save and restart.

If you have adjusted Oculus Link settings via the troubleshooting tools (e.g. bit rate, resolution width, pixels per view), these changes may adversely affect performance.
Correct this by resetting the changed values to “0” (zero) and restarting the PC software.

No. You don’t need to use Oculus’ own cable for Oculus Link.

Oculus Link requires a high-quality USB cable that supports both data and power.

It is recommended to use a USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB cable that is at least 3 meters long for optimal performance and a comfortable experience.

Our 5 meter Oculus Link Cable meets these requirements and is tested and approved for Oculus Link.
