The Oculus Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Pico 4 are expensive VR headsets that are worth taking extra care of, so we strongly recommend using a lens protector. The lenses in the headsets are very sensitive to light and scratches. This means you need to protect them when you are not using the headset.
For good protection, use lens covers when you’re not using your Oculus Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 or Pico 4. A lens cover protects your headset from sunlight, dirt, dust and scratches.
What happens to your headset if it is exposed to sunlight?
Sunlight can permanently damage the lenses in your headset and it can happen very quickly. Exposing the lens to sunlight for less than a minute can be enough to damage the lens. The damage is often experienced as a clouding of the lens.
It is important not to play outdoors in daylight. But the fact is, it only takes the sun coming in through a window to damage the lenses of your Oculus Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 or Pico 4. For this reason, it is also important that you pack your headset well if you are going to transport it. We have several bags that are good for this purpose.
If you expose lenses to dust and dirt?
Dust and dirt can also permanently damage your lenses by making them scratchy. The best way to prevent this is to wipe the lenses with a clean cloth and to wear a lens protector when storing them. Cleaning cloths and lens covers also get dirty so don’t forget to wash/replace them regularly.

Ett tips är att införskaffa dig en sådan här, då linserna på “oberoende” VR set. Är väldigt känsliga mot sol ljus. Samt de håller dammet borta. Samt du slipper torka linserna i början, från damm tex.
